Hi David, Thanks very much for sharing the examples of the platform with us. Several of us have gone through this this in detail and find it very close to what we need for CRP Drylands. We still need more discussion here with management, but at this stage we wanted to explore with you what kind of cooperation/use of the tool would be possible if we wanted to adopt it. Can we discuss your thoughts on this when you have minute. I am travelling for the next three days the Enrico is on the road so maybe an initial e-mail exchange would be the most practical. Enrico is the main client for part of the tool as he leads M&E for the CRP Dryland Systems Please let us know what suits on your end. Thanks, Michael

Hello, David: Our data management unit manager, who is testing this platform has encountered some issues. I am copying this message to him so that he can provide the feedback and further coordinate with you. As we discussed we are interested to adopt this for our two CRPs – will keep post you the updates. Thanks Dileep

Dear Hernan and David, We had a nice tour around the system today. First i would like to congratulate you on a job well done. It must have been a massive job to develop this and start collecting the information!!! We would be interested to be able to be able to adapt and use the system as we see no reason to reinvent the wheel. If we were to do this we had a couple of questions in consideration: 1) The system meets alot of our needs and requirements so there are is high level of complementariness, but there are things that we need to collect in WLE and use so would need to add on/adapt/change. --- If we were to adapt the system, how would you envision this being done? Would you provide the whole system to us and then have us/change/adapt? Did you outsource this to developers who we could use to adapt/change? --- out of interest what database system did you use to develop this? What is the platform based on? --- How are you managing/maintaing and updating this? Do you have a team which does this? 2) Have you dealt with linking the data system to other CGIAR monitoring systems? For WLE, a bulk of information comes from IWMI so we were wondering if it would be easy to import/harvest information IWMI's e-project system. Is the system OAI-PMH compliant? 3) How difficult is it to import data -- did you import data from existing systems. We have alot of the data but it is in excel sheets or access databases. We were wondering how easy it would be to import from these systems? If you dont mind answering these questions, it should help us in deciding on next steps. Again, thanks for allowing us the opportunity to explore the system and look forward potential collaboration on this.. best, michael

Monday, April 14, 2014 7:52 AM Abreu, David (CIAT-CCAFS) Dear Graham, Thank you for your comments. As I may have indicated to you, we are now forming a Planning and Reporting Platform steering committee who will meet at the end of this month to discuss some adjustments and areas for improvements. I will make sure your comments will be discussed as well. Once we have a more clear way forward I will let you know. In the meantime, should you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you once again. Cheers, David

Director for CGIAR Research Program RTB, DG office Dear Hernan and David
Thanks for giving us access. Its fine for me to remove that on April 14th
The Platform looks very well structured. Easy to get into and find way around
On the test version I couldn’t see how reporting is handled and what gets uploaded.
For use in RTB we have many activities which involve scientists in different centers working collaboratively in teams for the same milestone or sets of milestones. There would need to be a way to track changes and see who made them, or a comment feature so they could leave a trail of who changed what.
This is tracking outputs and milestones but I don’t see how outcomes are handled. Any thoughts on that?
